Technical Consulting

The engineer who
figures it out
— whatever it takes.

Multi-disciplinary engineering expertise applied to real problems. From initial concept to working solution — with the rigour to get it right and the resourcefulness to keep going when it gets complicated.

The Approach

Problem First,
Solution Second

I don't arrive with a predetermined service catalogue. I arrive with the question that matters most: what does this actually need? That might be hardware, software, a system design, a business case, a process redesign, or something that doesn't have a name yet. The starting point is always the problem — not the tool.

My foundation is a multidisciplinary engineering degree that deliberately bridges mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software domains — giving me the ability to engage meaningfully across the full technical stack of most engineering challenges rather than stopping at the boundary of a single specialisation. In practice, this means I can follow a problem wherever it leads.

I have developed commercial products from initial brief through to working prototypes, integrated complex hardware and software systems, deployed IoT and automation solutions, conducted technical reviews for major projects, and provided engineering input into investor-facing business documents.

"I work best in the space between disciplines — where the mechanical meets the electrical, or the hardware meets the software, or the engineering meets the business."

How I Work

From Brief to Built

Technical consulting engagements vary enormously in scope and duration. Some clients need a single technical review; others need a development partner for months. I am comfortable with both.

Product Development. From napkin sketch to working prototype — including circuit design, component selection, PCB layout, firmware development, and integration testing. I understand both the engineering and the commercial dimensions of product development.

Automation & Connected Systems. Automation solutions across residential and commercial environments using a range of control platforms and communication protocols. I understand how to connect physical systems to digital interfaces and make them reliable and maintainable.

Systems Integration & Testing. Complex projects often fail at the integration layer. I have extensive experience in the commissioning and acceptance testing of integrated systems at major project level, and I bring that discipline to smaller-scale challenges as well.

Technical Advisory & Business Planning. Sometimes the most valuable contribution is not to build something but to provide an independent, technically credible view on whether something should be built, how it should be scoped, or whether the approach being proposed is actually the right one.
